I got this as a b'day present in May, and booked our flight over 2 months later. I was a bit apprehensive after our first flight was cancelled after seeing some reviews online (and realising the ballooning season ends in October). However, we easily got to re-arrange it and were delighted go on our 2nd flight booking (for less than 2 weeks later) with no problem in September. As it is understandably very weather dependent, if you have been given a voucher (as I had), it's best to get a date in asap to give enough time to re-arrange.We went in early morning, the views were absolutely beautiful and it was peaceful. We really enjoyed our balloon flight, our pilot Kim was friendly with a good sense of humor. We got to have champagne afterwards as well.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!.Since first booking a balloon flight over York for my partners mothers birthday, the flight has been cancelled on no less than 10 different occasions since April 2018. the customer service is atrocious with very little to no empathy for any situation which may effect you. Yesterday (18th October 2018) the balloon flight went ahead.....without my partners mother being on it. When we rang up to re-book the flight, we were told no, you cant do that. You missed the flight, the flight went ahead, its your fault. They informed us that they had tried to contact us on the number provided and that the phone number was incorrect. I asked them which number they had phones as neither me, my partner nor her mother had received a phone call, a text, an email...hell, not even a smoke signal.I was told to check the phone number on our 'Flight Details' page of their website. I entered our credentials but lo and behold.....the account had been deleted so there was no number to check.I phoned their sales number only to have some guy on the other end of the phone speak down to me like i was less than a child, his complete lack of empathy, his utter contempt for having to even talk to me was unbelievable. when i finally managed to get a word in edge-ways and explain the situation, i was told in no uncertain terms that he wanted proof as to why we hadn't made the flight.Since then, my partner has also phoned them and the same guy, with the same level of contempt and utter lack of interpersonal skills advised her that he had sent us an email, said that we were in breach of T's and C's, and closed the conversation with "And now I'm off to fly a balloon" before hanging up the phone.This company is an utter scam, a waste of time and money, so utterly shocking at customer service that it is a wonder that they continue to operate.if I ever manage to get my money back off them it will be a miracle.AVOID THIS BUNCH OF THIEVES
Same as the other one-star reviewers. Tell us that all the flights are booked until our vouchers expire yet want to charge 40 per head for extending the expiry date 3 weeks ahead. When we made a reservation for a flight (which was cancelled later due to the weather) we asked to pencil in other slots in case of cancellations, but were told not to do this. When we called on the cancelled day we were told there were no flights available in the next 3 weeks for us to book. I appears that they sell considerably more balloon flights than they can provide and use the terms and conditions as a defence. That doesn't seem like fair trading to me.However when we did get a slot at fairly short notice it was amazing!
i'm sure its a scam. 2 years, and no balloon ride. and a disappointed daughter who has been waiting for 3 years for the balloon ride that never came. Shame on you.
If you want your money to be given away with getting nothing, book with these guys! Cancelled 4 times, up early in Hyde Park for 4.40am to be cancelled.Paid 80 for an extension fee and in the end lost my voucher and the extension.Seriously do not buy, they have every get out clause you can think of!A lovely gift, what would of been an amazing experience but unfortunately an awful company who are committing daylight robbery!
