Highly recommend; very friendly and stock a great range of carpets. Was surprised to find their prices are actually very comparable to well known high street chains but their service is 100x better

Terrible job even worse customer service! I arranged for Hook carpets to remove the existing flooring and replace with Karndean flooring in my hall, bathroom, and downstairs cupboard. I was excited as we had used the company before to fit the same flooring in our office and were happy with the service we received and the finish of the job. The problems started when the fitters arrived 1.5 hours late to remove the existing floor (I had phoned for a time the day before as I had a meeting in London) after twenty minutes of removing the flooring I was informed that my sink had fallen off the wall.. These things happen I suppose however the attitude of the fitter was terrible. I am not sure what would have happened had I not been there as he refused to touch anything else and even grimaced when I asked to borrow a screwdriver so I could isolate the taps so as not cause a water leak! With the sink disconnected. The chaps completed the prep work. My wife phoned the following day to try and see whether this accident could be covered by the companies insurance. She spoke to a gentleman called who explained that it was not their fault because of the way the sink had been originally installed. This is fair enough however during the phone call a lady could be heard in the background shouting tell her its not our problem repeatedly. The next day the floor was laid however when I arrived home I discovered. -gaps in the flooring-the flooring had not stuck in a number of places and was pealing up-a huge gap was left between the skirting boards and the new flooring (this was not explained during the quotation process) The next day I phoned to request someone come out and correct the issues with the floor and was told that the earliest this could be done was in two weeks time. When I suggested that this was not an appropriate time scale the lady on the other end of the phone started shouting at me and when I asked her not to she accused me of being rude and slammed the phone down. 20 minutes later a chap arrived. He was polite, he listened to the issues listed above and agreed that they needed to be sorted more quickly than the two weeks suggested however could not give a specific date or time when this would be. In addition he explained that the fitter was not prepared to fill the gaps between the door frames and the door with silicon because he didnt feel he would be able to do a good enough job My key issue with this company is not that the issues occurred. I understand that from time mistakes are made, glues dont stick, and expectations of the finished job can sometimes be different to the reality. However but the way I was spoken to by the lady over the phone was truly shocking and to be told that I would have to wait two weeks to get these issues resolved is unacceptable. I have found Hook Carpets very different to the bold claims on their website of our level of service from beginning to fitting is second to none use at your peril!!!
